The Director General of Fisheries Development, Ángeles V. Suárez, met today in Santiago de Compostela with representatives of the Galician Association of Nautical Leisure Education Companies (AGEENAR) to discuss the simplification of administrative procedures and the planning of leisure nautical training for 2027.

During the meeting, held at the Directorate General's headquarters, measures were discussed to facilitate student registration and enrollment, as well as the management of procedures related to written qualification exams. The improvement of the computer system to streamline these tasks and move towards simpler and more efficient processing was explored.
The planning of exams for 2027, based on the association's proposals, was also addressed. The need for fluid dialogue channels and permanent coordination between the Directorate General, official nautical-fishing schools (such as the Instituto Politécnico Marítimo Pesqueiro do Atlántico in Vigo), and private academies was highlighted, aiming to foster the exchange of experiences and improve the organization of exams and administrative management.
AGEENAR representatives committed to submitting proposals for improvements to the regulations governing nautical leisure education for future updates. The meeting took place in a climate of dialogue with a shared desire to facilitate coordination among the various entities involved in student training and assessment.
