The Director General of Commerce and Consumption, Gabriel Alén, accompanied by the Xunta delegate in Vigo, Ana Ortiz, visited two establishments participating in the Activa Comercio vouchers today in Vigo, highlighting their role in boosting proximity commerce sales.

In the province of Pontevedra, over 2,500 businesses have joined this initiative, with more than 575 located in Vigo. Gabriel Alén recalled that business adhesion is a one-time process for all editions of the year, aiming to reduce paperwork and increase efficiency.
The Activa Comercio vouchers offer discounts of up to 30 euros and can be used to purchase products or services at participating establishments. Since their launch on October 28th, over 882,000 euros in discounts have been redeemed in the province of Pontevedra, mobilizing around 4 million euros in total sales. In Vigo, redeemed discounts exceed 250,000 euros, with a mobilization of one million euros.
Businesses that have not yet joined can do so until December 15th or until the allocated budget of 2.5 million euros is exhausted. This funding is expected to mobilize triple the amount in sales, following the trend of previous calls. The plan is to reintroduce the Activa Comercio vouchers under the same conditions next year.
The campaign allows each person to download a single voucher. Discounts vary based on purchase value: 5 euros for purchases between 20 and 30 euros, 10 euros for purchases between 30 and 50 euros, and 15 euros for purchases over 50 euros. Once the total credit of 2.5 million euros is depleted, the vouchers will no longer be usable.
Prior to visiting the shops, Ana Ortiz and Gabriel Alén held a meeting with traders from Vigo and its surrounding area to inform them about the available regional support. The meeting was attended by representatives from various business associations in Vigo neighborhoods and nearby towns.
