The Vilalba Council will hold an extraordinary plenary session tomorrow, Tuesday, November 3rd, to approve an extraordinary credit of €545,871.46, intended to finance various improvements in municipal infrastructure, service renewals, and cultural and social activities.

The plenary session will submit for approval an extraordinary credit expediente for the amount of €545,871.46, financed from the remaining liquid treasury for general expenses. This modification will economically support various actions to improve municipal infrastructure, renew services, maintain facilities, and promote cultural and social activities, with special attention to the needs of the town and its parishes.
The most significant action will be the improvement of Plácido Peña street, with an investment exceeding €134,000. The project includes replacing 20 lampposts with new seven-meter LED technology poles and renovating the street at the intersection with Cidade de Viveiro and As Pontes streets. These points will feature landscaped areas and improved monument lighting.
The mayor, Marta Rouco, highlights that “this extraordinary credit allows us to transform municipal resources into concrete actions that respond to real needs. We are talking about improving streets, renewing basic facilities and services, and continuing to care for both the urban space and the parishes”.
Other funded actions include the renovation of the domestic hot water system for the heated swimming pool (€50,152), the installation of air conditioning in the Childcare Attention Point (€33,230), the renewal of the LED lighting system at the artificial turf football field of A Madalena (€21,469), and the replacement of the sanitation network on Pita de Veiga street (€13,103).
The credit also allocates €11,000 for socio-cultural activities in the parishes, the conditioning of plots for public parking, pothole repair on access roads in Corbelle, Martiñán, and Oleiros, and maintenance improvements in municipal buildings such as the Casa da Cultura and the Auditorio.
Another highlighted item will be the approval of the updated project for the regeneration of the access to the nucleus of Ver, in Goiriz, from the N-634 road, with a budget of €36,800, financed by the Provincial Council of Lugo. The project will be re-tendered after the first attempt was declared void.
The agenda is completed with the public draw for electoral board members for the general elections on November 29th, the resignation of BNG councilors and the request for credentials for a new councilor, as well as budget modifications.
