The meeting served to review the impact of actions developed under the agreement signed this year to support the Global Sustainable Seafood Galicia Forum (GSSG Forum). This fourth edition has consolidated Galicia as an international meeting point for responsible marine resource management, blue transformation, and the socioeconomic and environmental impact within the value chain of fishing and aquaculture products.
During the meeting, operational bases were laid to advance in the preparation of content and projects planned for 2027. Both parties expressed a shared commitment to continue deepening strategies that highlight the sustainability of maritime resources, traceability transparency, decarbonization, and scientific innovation applied to the marine-industrial sector.
The cooperation between the Consellería do Mar (Ministry of the Sea) and Fundación Nueva Pescanova, a non-profit entity declared of Galician interest, is part of the institutional commitment to foster dialogue with all stakeholders in the fishing chain to enhance sector competitiveness and preserve marine ecosystems long-term.
