The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Ángeles Vázquez, participated in the closing of the 4th Conference of the Parties of the Galician Climate Alliance, where the Climate Action Best Practices Catalogue was presented. This document aims to highlight the work of the most committed Galician entities in climate action.
Ángeles Vázquez emphasized that climate action is a shared challenge and an opportunity to innovate and move towards a carbon-neutral territory. The Galician Climate Alliance, which now includes over 270 entities, works against global warming, aims to make the Community more resilient, and establishes guidelines to achieve climate neutrality.
The catalogue includes 13 highlighted initiatives in areas such as waste management, sustainable innovation, and more efficient and environmentally friendly production models, driven by organizations affiliated with the Alliance. It serves as an example of commitment to sustainability and tangible results.
“"Climate action is a shared challenge and present in all areas and sectors of society, as well as a great opportunity to innovate, collaborate, and collectively build a carbon-neutral Community."
The Galician Climate Alliance promotes the exchange of scientific information, technology, and research related to climate, as well as the dissemination of technologies for the transition to low-emission energy systems. The event also analyzed and awarded ideas and projects, recognizing four entities with the Climate Action Awards: Birdmind, Agroamb, Froiz, and Anfaco-Cytma.
The objectives and instruments presented today will continue to be developed in 2027, with a 29.3% increase in the budget for the Ministry of Environment's climate policies. Projects such as the B2B Community, MentoringLAB, and Climathon were presented, aiming to accelerate joint decarbonization projects and find solutions to environmental challenges.
