The exhibition, which explores the connection between particle physics and contemporary Galician creation, can be visited for free on the 1st floor of the Museo Centro Gaiás until January 10, 2027. The initiative was born in 2025 as a collaboration between the USC and the Xunta de Galicia.
The opening event was attended by the artist, the Director General of Culture of the Xunta de Galicia, Anxo M. Lorenzo; the Vice-Rector for Research and Open Science of the USC, Almudena Hospido; the Director of IGFAE, Carlos Salgado; and the Managing Director of the Fundación Cidade da Cultura, Ana Isabel Vázquez.
Additionally, IGFAE hosted an open encounter with artist Andrés Rodís, where he conversed with researchers from the institute to continue the dialogue between arts and sciences.
The proposal by Andrés Rodís (Santiago de Compostela, 2000) features 25 pieces, including paintings, collages, digital prints, and a video projection, addressing principles of quantum mechanics such as Heisenberg's uncertainty principle and the concept of superposition. The artist interacted with IGFAE researchers in early 2026, learning about the technologies and experiments that validate these theories.
This artistic residency is part of IGFAE's commitment to orient its work towards more socially responsible research and innovation, through IGFAE Labs. These programs aim to be meeting spaces between arts (ArtLab), education (EduLab), and technology transfer (TechLab).
The Fundación Cidade da Cultura de Galicia and IGFAE have launched the second call for this residency, with applications open until February 1, 2027. Submissions can encompass various formats related to IGFAE's scientific areas.
