The Chair of the Camino de Santiago and Pilgrimages at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) received the Pentafinium Award 2026 last weekend in Mérida, recognizing its work in the scientific study and cultural promotion of the Jacobean Route.

The award, presented by the Spanish Federation of Associations of Friends of the Camino de Santiago (FEAACS), particularly highlights the organization of the summer seminar 'International Jacobean Lessons of the USC', which will celebrate its twentieth anniversary next year. The award acknowledges the contributions of those who have directed this initiative, including professors Domingo Luis González Lopo and Miguel Taín Guzmán.
The Chair, a collaboration with Turismo de Galicia, was honored in the 'Program of Action' category for its efforts in preserving, promoting, and developing the Jacobean pilgrimage, in line with FEAACS's principles.
