The Ministry of Rural Affairs has extended the high fire risk period in Galicia until October 31, citing current weather conditions.

The Ministry of Rural Affairs published today in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) a resolution extending the high fire danger period for 2026. Initially set to end on September 30 and later extended to October 15, the high-risk period will now last until October 31.
This decision is motivated by the current meteorological conditions that increase the risk of fires. The order determining the high danger period, published on June 11, already included the possibility of modifying these dates based on circumstances.
During this high-risk period, Galicia will maintain a constant surveillance and readiness operational team. The Ministry reminds citizens of the importance of collaboration and vigilance.
