The regional government, through the Galician Agricultural Guarantee Fund (Fogga), will allocate this sum to direct aid that will be activated as soon as possible, following the recent distribution of European funds among autonomous communities. Galicia has been allocated €1.6 million from the EU, which the Xunta supplements with €2 million from its own funds to reach 4,500 Galician farmers and livestock breeders.
The aid, ranging from €100 to €6,010 per beneficiary, will be processed swiftly so that farms can cope with the economic strain. The forecast is that beneficiaries will receive the aid before the end of the year. This measure will be horizontal and apply to various agricultural and livestock sectors, provided the established conditions are met.
Key requirements include being registered in the special regime for self-employed workers (RETA) or the special system for self-employed agricultural workers (SETA), deriving at least 25% of income from agricultural activity, and submitting the single application for the 2026 CAP campaign. It is estimated that around 4,500 individuals will benefit from this aid.
The amounts will be determined based on objective criteria related to agricultural land area (rain-fed or irrigated, excluding pastures). Fogga will conduct controls to verify actual cost increases and the correct application of the calculation methodology established by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
