Anyone needing land to develop or expand an agricultural and/or forestry holding, or to carry out a project for environmental, landscape, land stewardship, infrastructure, heritage, or nature conservation purposes, can contact the Banco de Terras. There, they will find an updated list of available plots for lease or transfer for a determined period.
The Banco de Terras de Galicia is an instrument of the Consellería do Medio Rural aimed at preventing the abandonment of agricultural land and making it available to those who need it for agricultural, livestock, forestry, nature conservation, heritage, or other socially relevant uses. Its function is to energize and mediate between landowners and those who need the land, offering guarantees and security in management.
Consultation and application for plots are done through the web tool Sistema de Información de Terras de Galicia, accessible at info-sitegal.xunta.gal.
Applications for leasing available rural plots should preferably be submitted electronically via the Xunta de Galicia's electronic headquarters or through the Banco de Terras website, using procedure MR711B.
