The Brión City Council has been awarded a 15,000 euro subsidy from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of the Xunta de Galicia for the acquisition of a new mobile clean point.

The aid, granted under the Order of January 15, 2026, is part of a line of subsidies to increase eco-efficiency in municipal waste management. The project has a total budget of 15,450 euros, financed 60% by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and 40% by the Xunta de Galicia.
The project includes the incorporation of a new mobile unit, smaller and more maneuverable, which will allow access to narrow roads, villages, and rural areas where larger equipment encounters difficulties. This new clean point will complement the existing municipal service since October 2025, aiming to expand territorial coverage and facilitate residents' delivery of waste that should not be deposited in conventional bins.
The unit will be prepared for the differentiated collection of nine types of waste: small IT and telecommunications equipment, small appliances, contaminated packaging and aerosols, toys and other plastics, lamps and fluorescent tubes, batteries, toner and printer cartridges, coffee capsules, and CDs and DVDs.
The project also includes specific training for the staff in charge of the service, to ensure the correct handling, storage, and delivery of waste to authorized managers. With this action, the Brión City Council seeks to facilitate the separation and recycling of special waste, improve access to the service in different parishes, and reduce uncontrolled dumping.
The total budget for the operation is €15,450.00, with the granted subsidy being €15,000.00. The financing comes from the European Union (Galicia FEDER 2021-2027 program) with 60% (€9,000.00) and the Xunta de Galicia, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, with 40% (€6,000.00).
