The Xunta de Galicia has received a total of 12 bids from companies for the construction of 79 new public homes in the municipality of Ames, with an investment of 14.7 million euros.

The new homes will be built on the plot on Agriños street, which was ceded free of charge by the City Council. The construction works will have an execution period of 19 months. The development, consisting of a ground floor, five upper floors, and penthouses, will feature homes with energy efficiency rating A, offering 2, 3, and 4 bedrooms.
In addition to this development of 79 homes, the regional administration will create another 140 public homes on another plot ceded in Galdrachán, also in the municipality of Ames. Thus, Ames joins the 18 Galician municipalities that are ceding land to the Xunta free of charge for the construction of public housing.
