The Diputación de Pontevedra has opened the call for the third edition of the Novos Valores artistic residency program, which will allow two emerging creators from the province to undertake stays in Madrid and Brussels during 2027.

The program, in collaboration with the Fondation Walter & Nicole Leblanc in Brussels and the Centro de Creación Contemporánea Matadero Madrid, aims to promote the training and visibility of young artists from the province. Applications can be submitted until November 26.
Selected artists will enjoy a residency of three to four weeks in Brussels (between February and April) and three months in Matadero Madrid (between April and July). Each will receive a grant of €9,500. The call is aimed at creators, researchers, or curators born or residing in the province of Pontevedra.
Applicants must submit a specific, original, and unpublished artistic project of any modality such as painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, or video, which will be executed during the residency period. The Diputación contributes €19,000 for these residencies and will cover the costs of transporting the completed works.
Novos Valores, originally an arts competition, transformed in 2025 into an international residency program to enhance the training of artists. Previous editions featured creators such as Carlos Fer, Andrea Davila Rubio, Sol Mussa, and Sara Piñeira, developing projects like “Exercicios para colgar unha pintura” or “Biblioteca decolonial”.
