The «Relevo Xeracional: O Futuro do Mar» project will participate in EDUGAL 2026, the Fair of Educational and Training Offerings of Galicia, taking place from October 21st to 23rd at the Pontevedra Exhibition Centre. The initiative will have its own stand to present the training and employment possibilities offered by the Galician maritime-fishing sector to students, educational centers, families, and the general public.
This cooperation project involving the eight Galician GALPs, coordinated by GALP Ría de Arousa in collaboration with the Basque GALP Itsas Garapen Elkartea and funded by the Consellería do Mar under the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF), aims to connect the sector with the educational community and highlight career opportunities for young people.
Throughout the three days, the stand will provide information on various training options, from Vocational Training (FP) and Dual FP to specific qualifications and certifications required for working in the maritime-fishing field, aiming to showcase the diversity of professional profiles and aid academic and career decisions.
Additionally, audiovisual and interactive resources will be available, including a vertical screen for project videos and virtual reality experiences, thanks to the collaboration of OPP 20 of A Illa de Arousa.
The Director General of Fisheries Development of the Xunta de Galicia, Ángeles Vázquez Suárez, will visit the stand on Thursday, October 22nd, at 10:00 AM, to learn about the initiative and emphasize the importance of promoting generational change.
