The Diputación da Coruña began yesterday in Cerceda the 'Healthy Life and Active Aging' cycle, with a talk by cardiologist José Ramón González Juanatey on cardiovascular prevention and artificial intelligence.

The cycle, aimed at bringing medical and scientific information to citizens, especially rural populations and the elderly, started with the conference "How to live over a hundred years with health" given by Dr. González Juanatey.
The president of the Diputación, Valentín González Formoso, highlighted the importance of offering science-backed content against misinformation and stressed the commitment to bring this knowledge to all municipalities.
During his presentation, the Professor of Cardiology at the Universidade de Santiago, José Ramón González Juanatey, emphasized the importance of physical activity, nutrition, rest, and controlling risk factors such as hypertension, cholesterol, and diabetes for cardiovascular health and the prevention of cognitive decline.
The potential of artificial intelligence in medicine to improve diagnosis and early disease detection was also discussed, as well as the collaboration between Galicia and Portugal in the New Health project to advance towards more accessible care.
The cycle will continue in November in Melide with the talk "Cancer, prevention and treatment" by Rafael López López, and in December in Pobra do Caramiñal with researcher Ana Belén Crujeiras Martínez, who will discuss "Living without obesity".
