The IES A Cachada de Boiro received today in Madrid the National Award of the 21st edition of the school competition Consumópolis, an event that promotes responsible consumption habits among students.

The manager of the Galician Institute of Consumption and Competition, Sol Vázquez, attended the award ceremony of this competition, organized by various regional administrations in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and the 2030 Agenda. The contest aims to promote responsible, critical, and sustainable consumption habits among students from Primary, Secondary, and Basic Vocational Training, with a special focus on the challenges of the digital environment.
Under the slogan When consuming, don't let the click dominate you, participants reflected on the influence of digital advertising, the role of influencers, impulsive online purchases, and the use of algorithms, as well as the importance of knowing consumer rights.
The competition included a virtual journey through Consumópolis with educational challenges and the creation of a collective project. This edition's creative challenge was the production of a podcast up to three minutes long. In Galicia, 123 teams participated, and the winners of the regional phase advanced to the national stage, where IES A Cachada achieved state recognition.
In the Galician regional phase, the top three works in each category were recognized, with prizes of 1,000, 600, and 300 euros for first, second, and third place, respectively. The winning teams from the first regional prize in each category advanced to the national phase.
