The Boiro market thus becomes the eighth facility in Galicia to receive this distinction, which is already held by the markets of Tomiño, Vilagarcía de Arousa, Pontedeume, Carballo, Ribeira, Ponteareas, and Tui. The seal will be installed in the coming days.
This distinction is part of the objective to achieve 25 spaces with this recognition by 2030, as outlined in the Galician Trade Strategic Plan 2025-2030. Boiro's market stands out for having nearly fifty stalls offering a wide variety of fresh, local, and high-quality products, including fish, seafood, meat, fruits, vegetables, preserves, frozen goods, flowers, as well as hospitality and sewing repair services.
The recognition is the result of joint work between the Xunta de Galicia and the Concello de Boiro, aiming to consolidate markets as central points for the commercialization of local fresh produce and as centers for complementary activities that decisively boost the dynamism of Galician towns and cities.
