The Director General of the Galician Agency for Rural Development, Paz Rodríguez, accompanied by the territorial delegate of the Xunta in Lugo, Alfonso Villares, today delivered the base bulletins for the land restructuring of San Fiz de Paz, in Outeiro de Rei, to the landowners affected by the action. The bases are publicly displayed at the Outeiro de Rei Town Hall and on the website of the Ministry of Rural Affairs.
In addition to distributing individual property bulletins containing summaries of data for each owner and their contributions, residents were informed about deadlines and appeal procedures. The project encompasses a total of 1,749 plots, belonging to 234 owners, covering an area of 1,120 hectares.
The Director General highlighted the importance of these instruments in addressing land fragmentation in the region, increasing land value and the territorial base of farms, and preventing their abandonment.
Since 2020, the Ministry of Rural Affairs has completed 40 land consolidations benefiting over 21,000 owners and mobilizing nearly 30,000 hectares. Since 2021, 33 new land restructurings have been decreed, mobilizing over 29,000 hectares.
The Galician government is committed to delivering 25 land restructurings by 2028 and plans to initiate procedures for 7 new restructurings this year.
