The projects, with a combined budget of 174,530 euros, focus on replacing damaged pavement with a solution combining granite tiles on the sides and cobblestones over a cement mortar base in the central area. This system is designed to improve durability and facilitate individual piece replacement.
In Campo Castelo, the intervention started today and covers the section between the exit of the Praza Maior galleries and the rear of the Casa Consistorial. Works on Rúa Nova will commence at the end of the week, with an estimated execution period of two months for each project.
Meanwhile, works on Rúa Milagrosa, which are already well advanced, include the complete renewal of the sanitation network following the detection of problems in the existing pipelines. The project also involves replacing collectors, inspection wells, and domestic connections.
These interventions aim to transform Rúa Milagrosa into a single-platform space prioritizing pedestrians. Through these works, Lugo City Council continues to improve public spaces by modernizing pavements and essential underground infrastructure.
