The parish of Pedroso will host the program “Volver a vida” starting next Monday, October 26. This initiative from the Narón City Council's Sociocommunity Service is designed to combat unwanted loneliness among people over 70 years old. Sessions will take place at the local social civic center.
The meeting afternoons will be held on Mondays and Sundays, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, until November 30. The program is designed for small groups, of up to 12 people, aiming to foster companionship and mutual acquaintance in a relaxed environment. According to the activity's slogan, "You don't need to know anything or bring anything. Just have the desire to come."
The program's methodology is group-based, participatory, and person-centered. Conversations, group dynamics, creative activities, and memory exercises will be combined, along with spaces to share memories and revive activities that once brought well-being.
“"Unwanted loneliness is not always observed, but it is much more present than we think. [...] The aim is that no one feels their afternoon passes unnoticed."
The Councillor for Social Welfare, María Lorenzo, emphasized the initiative's importance to "offer a place to go, talk, and feel accompanied for those who need it, without pressure or obligations."
The activity is free and places are limited. Interested individuals can obtain more information and register by calling the Narón City Council at 981 337 700 (extensions 1108 and 1109) or on the mobile number 698 122 420.
