The Narón Town Council will urge the Xunta to allocate more investments for the city in the 2027 budgets, as agreed upon in the municipal plenary session.

The plenary session of the Narón Town Council yesterday approved a motion, presented by Terra Galega and supported by BNG and PSOE with the abstention of PP, to demand greater investments from the Xunta for the city in the 2027 regional budgets. Demands include the construction of a center for the elderly, improvements to public educational centers, road enhancements, the Xunta taking over the management of municipal nursery schools, and the creation of an integrated Vocational Training center.
A motion from the BNG in support of the general strike on November 11th, under the slogan “Galiza fighting for a dignified life and the right to housing,” was also approved. The proposal, seconded by TEGA and PSOE, calls for effective measures from the Xunta and the central government to address the housing emergency.
An institutional declaration was addressed regarding the need to safeguard and advance the rights of victims of gender-based violence, highlighting the proximity of November 25th and the commitment of public institutions to eradicate this violence.
Furthermore, the declaration of special interest for the expansion works of the health center in Narón was approved, which will allow for a 95% bonus on the Construction Tax.
The plenary session also gave initial approval to the municipal ordinance on public shows and recreational activities, which outlines administrative, technical, and safety requirements. The document will be open for public information for thirty days.
Other approved motions include proposals from the PSOE on the RPT and public services, and on water management; from TEGA and BNG on the linguistic emergency of the Galician language; from the BNG on road safety in the As Lagoas industrial estate; and from the PP on the maintenance of urban collectors.
