The Governing Council of Portos de Galicia has approved the declaration of unnecessity for land owned by the public entity that does not register port activity in the municipality of Cedeira. This declaration formalizes Portos de Galicia's agreement for the reversion of these lands to the State so that it can decide on their transfer to the local council, as requested by the local administration.
With the approval of the declaration of unnecessity of lands in Cedeira, Portos de Galicia concludes the processing of municipal requests for the reversion to the State of port land without activity in about twenty autonomous ports. Cedeira's is the last of the approved files.
After being approved by the Consello da Xunta, the file will be sent to the Ministry for Ecological Transition, the competent administration to decide whether to accept the reversion and, subsequently, whether to transfer them to the municipalities.
The president of Portos de Galicia, Natalia Botana, explained that today a total of 22 reversion proposals were approved in municipalities such as A Guarda, A Pobra do Caramiñal, Bueu, Cambados, Cangas de Morrazo, Cariño, Cedeira, Fisterra, Foz, A Illa de Arousa, Laxe, Moaña, Mugardos, Oleiros, O Grove, Poio, Ponteceso, Pontecesures, Rianxo, Ribeira, Vilagarcía, and Vilanova de Arousa. Portos de Galicia is still awaiting a response from the central government on any of these proposals.
