The Cedeira Council has published on the Public Sector Contracting Platform the tender for the execution of the expansion and renovation of the Floreal children's park. The project has a budget of €77,920.06 (VAT included) and will be entirely financed through the provincial POS+2026 program. The facility, located in a busy square, will increase from its current 124 square meters to 201.
The project includes the installation of two large and unique play elements: a climbing structure simulating a pirate ship's watchtower, and a multi-structure imitating the bow and stern of a ship, with a horizontal ladder between both parts and swings of different heights. It will also feature a swing with two seats, one for babies, and a seesaw suitable for children with reduced mobility.
The current play equipment – a swing, two seesaws, a slide, and a picnic table – will be dismantled, stored, and reinstalled. All elements, including the existing ones, will be certified by an approved company. The work also involves demolishing the current concrete balustrade and reusing the metal fencing installed by the Council in 2022, with the corresponding extension to enclose the park in its new dimensions. The ground surface of the playground will also be replaced.
This project follows the renovation of two other playgrounds in the San Isidro area, whose works were completed this summer with an investment of nearly €247,000.
