The project seeks to facilitate access to books and library resources for individuals who may have difficulty traveling to its usual location, promoting closer and more equitable reading.
The name “Rapetando historias” links the initiative to Cedeira's cultural and maritime identity, using the metaphor of the "rapeta" (a type of fishing net) to represent collective effort, collaboration, and unity in the task of sharing stories and local memory.
This initiative also aims to recognize the value of the elderly as transmitters of knowledge and traditions, facilitating their access to culture and highlighting their memory as an essential part of Cedeira's collective heritage.
The new reading point represents a step towards a more open and accessible library, capable of adapting to citizens' needs and being present where it is most required, fostering community and ensuring access to culture for everyone.
