Mobile operators Telefónica, Vodafone, and Orange have announced that in the coming weeks they will carry out the deployment of next-generation mobile services, 4G and 5G, on the 800 and 700 MHz bands, respectively, in Ares. This new technology will allow residents of Ares to enjoy high-speed mobile connections, with better indoor coverage and greater geographic reach.
To ensure the compatibility of this new technology with Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT), Llega700 is the entity established by the operators to resolve any incidents that may affect television signal reception. The deployment process is being carried out progressively throughout the national territory.
The deployment is part of Royal Decree 579/2019, of October 11, which freed up frequencies between 694 and 790 MHz (channels 49 to 60 of the UHF band), also known as the Digital Dividend. These frequencies have been allocated to mobile operators for their next-generation services.
The new mobile network opens the door to innovative services and applications, in addition to offering significant improvements in download and upload speeds, allowing users to make the most of online applications. The new generation of mobile telephony improves coverage in areas with geographical challenges and increases its penetration capacity inside buildings.
This new generation also facilitates the incorporation of new services for businesses and public administrations, such as mobile business applications with rich multimedia content or the use of video calls, among others. The enhanced coverage provided by the deployment on the 700 and 800 MHz bands will improve service inside buildings and allow for more efficient geographic coverage expansion.
Llega700 is the managing entity responsible for providing the necessary services to ensure compatibility between the launch of 4G and 5G mobile broadcasts on the 800 and 700 MHz bands and the reception of the DTT signal. To achieve this, it offers citizens free services, including a corrective procedure after the activation of the stations. The entity will manage and resolve any potential incidents at no cost.
To manage these services, users have a free helpline (900 833 999) and a website: www.llega700.es.
