The Minister of Health, Antonio Gómez Caamaño, on Saturday oversaw the development of the first access tests for 2,223 positions within the Galician Health Service (Sergas) at the Silleda International Exhibition Center, part of an autumn initiative aimed at staff stabilization.

In the morning session, covering pharmacy technician, speech therapist, and driver roles, 1,545 individuals participated out of 1,961 registered. The minister was accompanied by the department's Secretary General for Technical Affairs, Natalia Lobato, and the Director General of Human Resources for the Sergas, Mar Pousa.
Specifically, 79.1% of pharmacy technician candidates (1,007 out of 1,273), 91.3% of speech therapists (200 out of 219), and 72% of drivers (338 out of 469) took the exam. The positions offered in these categories are 38, 5, and 15, respectively.
Gómez Caamaño stated that reinforcing professional teams and advancing labor stability improves patient care and the development of new healthcare programs. He added that these exams, combined with those held in April and May, will allow for tests for a total of 4,699 statutory staff positions this year.
The tests will continue this afternoon (4:00 PM) for physiotherapists, higher technicians in diagnostic imaging, plumbers, and IT specialists, with 2,572 people admitted. Tomorrow, Sunday, October 25th, exams for auxiliary nursing technicians and pharmacy technicians (intellectual disability track) will conclude, with 9,561 candidates admitted. The Sergas selection processes will continue in November.
