The Curtis City Council has formalized the purchase of the former restaurant Casa Miraz and the old cinema in Teixeiro for a total of 330,000 euros, aiming to transform them into new public service spaces for residents.

The Curtis City Council officially completed the purchase of the former restaurant Casa Miraz and the old cinema in Teixeiro this Thursday before a notary. Both plots, located at numbers 14 and 12 on Avenida Doutor Martínez Pardo, are now municipal property after a transaction of 330,000 euros.
The Casa Miraz plot, acquired for 285,000 euros, covers an area of 1,939 square meters and includes three buildings totaling 811 square meters of constructed space. The adjacent old cinema was purchased for 45,000 euros. The acquisitions were financed through two interest-free loans from the Xunta's Cooperation Fund.
A technical team is already working on the rehabilitation project to transform the properties into modern and accessible spaces. Following the intervention, they will host various public services for social, youth, cultural, and educational purposes.
Project proposals will be presented publicly to encourage citizen participation, ensuring the future spaces meet the community's real needs and demands. This initiative will expand Teixeiro's public facilities and help revitalize the area between Plaza de España and the train station.
