The road safety and signage network improvement campaign by the A Coruña City Council will continue next week with night work in areas such as As Atochas (completing work on Mestranza street), Orzán, and Os Mallos. This latter action, divided into two phases, is nearing completion after renewing over a dozen points in the neighborhood. So far this year, municipal services have already completed the painting of 318 pedestrian crossings in neighborhoods like Xuxán, Monte Alto, Pelamios, and Zalaeta.
Once the second phase in Os Mallos is finished, the campaign will begin in Sagrada Familia. The plan includes improvement interventions for painting and signage in almost twenty neighborhoods, covering most of the municipal area. These actions are in addition to the road signage painting campaign.
Signage improvements are a priority due to their importance in maintaining safety in traffic areas. In 2026, new signage was implemented in several locations, such as the vicinity of the new market in Monte Alto, the intersection of Juan Díaz Porlier, and the parking areas of the Torre de Hércules and Oceanográfico. Parking zones have also been organized, including new parking lots on Maestro Anta street and Ejército avenue.
