The Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) published today the resolution from the Consellería de Emprego, Comercio e Emigración recognizing proposals from students at institutes in A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela, Lugo, and Tui. The competition, with 12,000 euros in prizes, is aimed at students of Vocational Training, sports education, and plastic and design arts in the region.
The winning projects, divided into higher and intermediate vocational training cycles, include initiatives such as Plasticrab, which revalues fishing and dairy waste to create bioplastics; Protenord, a biotechnology company for obtaining protein concentrate and organic fertilizer; and Corte Creativo, focused on designing Galician tourism products using laser technology.
In the intermediate cycle category, the winners were Hygrorock, which manufactures stones that change color with humidity; Jerky Beef Bites, for the production of dehydrated meat protein snacks; and MarIA, an artificial intelligence company specializing in the Galician maritime sector.
The winning projects will have the opportunity to join the business incubators of the Consellería de Educación, Ciencia, Universidades e Formación Profesional and will receive technical advice from the Rede de polos de emprendemento e apoio ao emprego (Network of entrepreneurship and employment support centers).
