Arteixo Council participated in Veszprém, Hungary, from November 3rd to 5th in the third transnational meeting of the PARKS network, part of the European URBACT IV program, to learn about and adapt urban green space management models.

The meeting marked the start of the network's adaptation phase and focused on the second thematic area: the Green Council model. This initiative aims to foster local stakeholder participation and collaboration between municipal departments in planning and managing urban green spaces.
During the sessions, participating cities shared experiences, learned about best practices, and analyzed challenges and opportunities in urban green infrastructure development and management. A highlight was the Nature-based Solutions (NBS) Marketplace, an exchange space where partners presented nature-based solutions.
Arteixo's participation in Veszprém provided an opportunity to learn about other management models and explore new perspectives to enhance its green space planning and management. The goal is to move towards a more integrated and transversal approach to green infrastructure.
This work will continue through Arteixo's Local URBACT Group (ULG), crucial for developing concrete proposals tailored to the municipality's context and priorities. The PARKS network facilitates knowledge sharing and the adaptation of best practices among European cities.
