The new facility, which will double the number of sports courts of the current Pazo dos Deportes, aims to expand the capacity of municipal infrastructure and provide the municipality with a facility adapted to current and future needs. The City Council will commission the drafting of the execution project in the coming weeks and plans to include an initial budget allocation in the 2027 budgets.
The new pavilion will be located in a key area for educational and sports facilities, where five educational centers, the Arteixo swimming pool complex, the Ponte dos Brozos municipal stadium, and the Pazo dos Deportes are already situated.
Arteixo has 16,000 people registered in its municipal sports facilities, and according to City Council data, one out of every two residents uses these services, which have been reinforced in recent years.
Recently, the City Council renovated the Meicende football fields with an investment of 1.6 million euros and also carried out works on the fields of the Ponte dos Brozos complex, in addition to promoting other infrastructures such as the Pastoriza-Meicende swimming pool complex.
