The Nigrán Council commemorates this Wednesday, October 28, the centenary of the tram line that connected Vigo with Val Miñor via A Ramallosa, inaugurated in September 1926.

Historian María Álvarez-Blázquez will give the lecture ‘The transformation of Val Miñor with the arrival of the electric railway’ at 7:30 PM in the Municipal Auditorium. Entry is free until full capacity.
This is the first event in a program that will extend until the end of the year, thanks to the collaboration of the associations ‘Enganchados do pescante. Memoria dos tranvías de Vigo’ and Resiliencia, as well as expert Ismael Pérez-Izaguirre.
The program will continue on Thursday, November 12, with the screening of ‘Tranvía a la Malvarrosa’ at the Cine Municipal de A Ramallosa. On November 25, the Municipal Auditorium will host screenings of short films and documentaries about the tram. On December 2, there will be a discussion on current mobility, and from Christmas until the end of January, an exhibition at the Centro da Terceira Idade de A Ramallosa, in the old station.
Mayor Juan González highlighted that the tram is part of the collective and heritage memory of Val Miñor, with A Ramallosa being the line's nerve center. Nigrán keeps the old station alive, and the mayor emphasizes his commitment to preserving local memory.
