The student association CES UVigo is facing the new academic year with the challenge of returning to competition with its solar trimaran Boeiro I, which will undergo improvements and features a scale model for experimentation.

The student association CES UVigo, dedicated to the design and construction of solar-powered boats, is heading back to competition with its solar trimaran Boeiro I. After a period focused on internal work and the development of a scale model, the team faces the new academic year with three main goals: returning to competition, fine-tuning the Boeiro I, and continuing to grow the team.
The Boeiro I, a six-meter-long vessel designed and built by the team itself, previously competed in the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge in 2024, becoming the first Spanish team to participate in the Solar category. Now, the boat will undergo various modifications, including a new layout for the solar panels and new foil systems, aimed at preparing the project for its next phase.
The construction of a scale model of the Boeiro I during the past academic year allowed the team to conduct tests and experiment with the boat's behavior without the resources required to move the actual trimaran. This experimentation tool was key to advancing the project's development before implementing solutions on the main vessel.
The team currently comprises 17 members from various schools and fields at UVigo, primarily from the Schools of Industrial Engineering and Telecommunication Engineering, but also including students from other degree programs and master's students. The association keeps its doors open for new members throughout the year, seeking individuals with "a desire to work and a good attitude".
The team's leadership consists of five individuals: presidency, vice-presidency, treasury, secretary, and technical director. The choice of competition calendar and budget will be decisive factors in determining where and when they will compete again.
