The Director General of Vocational Training, Eugenia Pérez, today highlighted the nomadic classroom at the Pazo da Mercé Institute, in As Neves, as a key tool for bringing training to rural areas and combating early school leaving.

The nomadic classroom at the Pazo da Mercé Institute, in the Pontevedra town of As Neves, is dedicated to the Basic Vocational Training cycle in Vehicle Maintenance. According to Eugenia Pérez, Director General of Vocational Training, this training modality is crucial for retaining students at risk of early school leaving, offering them not only a qualification but also the possibility of continuing their studies.
The space is equipped with specialized material such as a two-post lift, tire changer and balancer, spray gun, bodywork tools, and other implements, allowing the ten enrolled students to develop the practical part of the cycle.
The Galician education system currently has four nomadic classrooms, a pioneering initiative that has a total of 81 enrolled students in institutes in Ames, A Laracha, Vigo, and As Neves. These spaces, designed by Vocational Training teachers and students, aim to offer quality training and meet the specific needs of educational centers throughout the region.
