The mayor, Ángel Moldes, and the councilwoman for Economic Promotion, Maritxe González, presented diplomas to the fourteen participants who completed 100 hours of training in this course, organized in collaboration with the Fundación Acción contra el Hambre. Two of the students have already found employment.
Moldes congratulated the attendees for their effort and highlighted the importance of offering training opportunities that facilitate access to the labor market, stating that it is "a great fortune and an incredible opportunity to access accredited training recognized by companies, close to home and completely free of charge".

The usefulness of these initiatives is reflected in their employment insertion results. Two participants are already working, demonstrating the opportunities offered by specialized training. Throughout 2025, the Concello de Poio trained a total of 31 people in various courses, with 75% of the students currently working or engaged in continuous employment in their trained sectors. In the 2026 polyvalent dependent course, nearly 60% of the thirteen participants joined the labor market.
The Council will continue to expand its training offerings with new proposals aimed at improving residents' employability. In fact, a new online course for school dining and transport monitors, with fifteen participants, began today.
Furthermore, the mayor encouraged participants to continue utilizing the Council's resources to facilitate their job search, such as the Labor Intermediation Service and the EmpregoenPoio profile on social media. These tools, launched in 2024, are consolidated as a contact point between job seekers and companies needing to hire staff, receiving offers from across the province.
