The Xunta de Galicia has awarded contracts worth nearly 770,000 euros for the construction of a new path on the LU-234 road, passing through the parish of San Martiño de Ombreiro, in the municipality of Lugo.

The awarded company, Cholo S.L., will undertake the construction of an itinerary of just over 1.2 kilometers, running parallel to the left side of the regional road. This new path will connect the rural villages of A Ponte and Riazón to promote sustainable mobility and ensure safe pedestrian travel for residents.
The project, to be executed between kilometer points 3+350 and 4+630 of the LU-234, will be 2.5 meters wide and will be financed by FEDER 21/27 funds.
Additionally, the bus stop at kilometer point 4+490 will be improved for accessibility. The path will feature colored concrete in an earthy tone, reinforced with steel mesh at accesses and intersections, and tactile paving at municipal crossings and the bus stop.
To minimize future disruptions from utility works, telecommunications will be channeled beneath the sidewalk, and another conduit is planned for the electrical network.
