Galician pianist and composer Abe Rábade will present his latest work, «Nova Botánica», next Sunday, November 8th, at 7:30 PM in the Fuxan os Ventos Auditorium, in a free concert organized by the Department of Culture as part of the 36th edition of the Lugo Jazz Festival.

The Lugo City Council, through the Department of Culture, is collaborating in the celebration of the 36th edition of the Lugo Jazz Festival, organized by Escobijazz with the sponsorship of the Council itself. The festival will take place from November 4th to 14th and will feature concerts by renowned figures from the music scene.
One of the highlights will be the performance by Abe Rábade, who will present his latest project, «Nova Botánica». The concert will be held on Sunday, November 8th, at 7:30 PM in the Fuxan os Ventos Auditorium. Admission will be free, on a first-come, first-served basis until the Main Hall is full.
With «Nova Botánica», Rábade offers a musical journey that blends Galician tradition, jazz, and chamber music, inspired by Galicia's native vegetation. The work explores the links between landscape, memory, and identity, combining musical sensibilities and a dialogue between traditional culture and contemporary creation.
The festival will bring together international artists such as Paquito D'Rivera, Kenny Barron, James Carter, Erik Truffaz, along with Antonio Lizana and Takuya Kuroda, among others. Concerts will be held in various venues across the city, including the Círculo das Artes, the Auditorio Fuxan os Ventos, the Club Clavicémbalo, and the Casa do Saber.
Advance ticket sales for concerts at the Círculo das Artes began on Tuesday at 6:00 PM. The full program is available on the website jazzlugo.com. The Lugo City Council thus reaffirms its support for culture and music in the city.
