The Xunta delegate in Ferrol, Martina Aneiros, visited the municipality of Ares this morning where, accompanied by the mayor, Julio Iglesias, she supervised the progress of the construction works for the new park-and-ride facility in the town. This project is co-financed by both administrations under a collaboration agreement with the Consellería de Presidencia, Xustiza e Deportes.
The works, being carried out on a plot located at kilometer point 1+640 of the AC-123 road, will provide the space with 216 new parking spaces. The project includes the application of granular pavement in the parking areas, the creation of green zones, and concrete circulation lanes, as well as underground piping and lighting.
The Galician government is allocating more than 220,000 euros to this action, representing 75% of the total project budget.
