The Ares City Council will promote the reuse of textile waste and the circular economy thanks to a grant of €8,000, awarded by the Xunta de Galicia and co-financed by the European Union.

The project, part of Line 4 of the municipal waste management aid call, aims to encourage separate collection and reuse of textile materials through workshops and awareness campaigns.
Planned activities include textile material reuse workshops, promotion of responsible consumption practices, development of informative materials, and fostering citizen participation in waste management.
This initiative reinforces the Council's commitment to European sustainability goals and the transition to a circular economy, aligning with the Waste Law and the Galicia Municipal Waste Management Sector Plan 2030.
The €8,000 aid comes from the Galicia FEDER 2021-2027 program, co-financed at 60% by the European Union, and is managed by the Xunta de Galicia's Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
