The Valga Town Hall is carrying out various improvements, including accessibility, organic waste management, and municipal road paving, with initiatives driven by libraries and social services.

The Valga Town Hall is implementing various improvements in the locality. A show promoted by the municipal libraries, as part of the “Ler conta moito” program of the Public Library Network of Galicia, brought messages of personal overcoming, equality, and perseverance to children.
Furthermore, the Social Services department is promoting an initiative that will offer free talks and sessions on current topics of interest to families. The first session will be held on November 13th in the Auditorium and will focus on nutrition in childhood and adolescence.
Regarding waste management, over 1,000 domestic composters and 6 community centers allow for the management of 250 tons of organic waste per year. Technical staff from Amigos da Terra have carried out control visits to more than a hundred homes in recent weeks.
Road infrastructure is also being improved. The paving of a municipal road approximately 700 meters long, financed with funds from the Provincial Council, included the installation of new stone pavement and urban and garden furniture. An area for vehicle parking has been prepared at the end. Councilor Carmen Gómez visited to check on the progress of the work.
