The Plenary of the Curtis City Council today unanimously ratified the request to Adif to execute option 3, an underpass on the railway line in Teixeiro, considered safer and more accessible. This decision stems from technical meetings and a public consultation process where option 3 received 61% of the support. The Council will also request Adif's intervention in the warehouse building to facilitate pedestrian mobility around the station, with the entity assuming 100% of the project and works financing.
Furthermore, the Plenary unanimously approved adhesion to the Network of Municipalities Against Cancer, promoted by the Spanish Association Against Cancer with the collaboration of the Provincial Council of A Coruña. The Council commits to working on health promotion, care for patients and families, and social participation. Among the initial actions is the designation of two smoke-free spaces in the parks of Teixeiro and Curtis to aim for the "Concello Contra o Cancro – A Coruña" recognition.
The corporation also approved support for the update of the General Plan for the Normalization of the Galician Language, with a favorable vote from the PP and against from the BNG. This plan includes nearly 700 measures to promote the use of Galician and was approved by the Parliament of Galicia on October 7. Finally, the draw for the members of the electoral boards for the General Elections on November 29 was carried out without incident.
