The Viveiro City Council reports that tomorrow, Tuesday, October 27th, works to improve and renew the pavement of the LU-862 road in Covas will begin, as part of a project by the Xunta de Galicia.

The works to improve and renew the pavement of the LU-862 road, part of a project by the Xunta de Galicia, will commence tomorrow, Tuesday, October 27th, in the Covas area, specifically in Os Castelos, advancing towards A Misericordia. The intervention will also affect the urban areas of Viveiro and the entrance from Celeiro.
During the execution of the works, traffic on the LU-862 will be regulated by traffic lights, allowing for alternating vehicle circulation. To facilitate mobility, light vehicles heading towards O Vicedo are advised to use alternative routes, such as the promenade.
As the work progresses, it will be necessary to clear affected parking areas, so parking will be prohibited in the sections where work is underway, which will be progressively signposted. The works are expected to be completed within this week, weather permitting.
Subsequently, parking areas will be reorganized and signage updated. This intervention is part of a project by the Xunta de Galicia to reduce traffic noise and speed in various urban sections of the LU-862, awarded to the company Ovisa Pavimentos y Obras S.L.U. for an amount of 638,922.35 euros.
The City Council recommends that drivers pay attention to the temporary signage and plan their journeys considering potential traffic delays.
