Nuria Pena's work won the Galicia Engraving Award in 2019, as part of the X Atlante Engraving Award, one of the benchmark events for graphic work in the region. Four years earlier, she had already been recognised in the same Atlante Award, in Ribeira.
Internationally, the artist received the Excellence Jury Price from Enter into Art (Germany) in two consecutive editions, 2018 and 2019, after participating in the 2017 call. Her work was also present at the Miniprint Triennal in Sapporo, in 2017, and in Tokyo, in 2015, as well as in exhibitions in Iran, Madrid, Edinburgh, and Cagliari.
Her training includes scholarships in 2001 from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando and the Academy of Spain in Rome, under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Many of the publications that document her work originate from that period, including those from the graphic art competitions of the Calcografía Nacional and the Museo Casa de la Moneda.
In A Coruña, Pena exhibited her work at the Unión Fenosa Museum of Contemporary Art, with the workshop polyptych created alongside Modest Cuixart, and also at the museum's stand at ARCO. Her studio is located on Ronda de Montealto.
Engraving, the technique on which she focuses her production, is a discipline with a long tradition in Galicia that continues to have its own competitions and specific collectors. The artist has been working in this field for over two decades.
